Dustin Shaw was raised in the construction industry. The son of a journeyman carpenter who built the homes he lived in as a youth, Dustin supported himself during college working in various construction fields from heating and air conditioning to painting.

Following graduation from Southern Polytechnic University in Marietta with a degree in telecommunications engineering technology, Dustin was employed in Washington, D.C. as a network engineer before returning to Georgia to further develop his home construction skills. He was affiliated with a major local home builder in positions of increasing responsibility prior to forming his own company, Dustin Shaw Homes, Inc.
